Cathora

Community Guidelines

Cathora’s community exists to pray for one another, to build good work together, and to help each other become saints.

Last updated 29 September 2026.

“By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another.” (John 13:35, Douay-Rheims). These guidelines apply everywhere members write in Cathora: posts, questions, prayer requests, testimonies, events, comments, messages, shared intentions, groups, company listings and profiles. They are part of our Terms of Use.

What we hope for

  • Charity first. Speak to others as you would to a brother or sister in Christ. Disagree about ideas without attacking people.
  • Truth, humbly. Share Church teaching faithfully, and be clear when something is your own opinion, a pious tradition or a private devotion.
  • Pray, don’t just post. When you tap “I prayed for this”, please mean it.
  • Build honestly. Opportunities, companies and events should be real and described truthfully.
  • Guard confidences. What someone shares in a prayer request, group or message is not yours to repeat elsewhere.

Not allowed, ever

Cathora has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. We remove it, and we remove people who post it.

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation or targeting anyone, including through repeated unwanted messages.
  • Hate or contempt for anyone because of race, ethnicity, nationality, sex, disability, age or religion, including other Christians and people of other faiths.
  • Sexual content of any kind, and anything that sexualises or endangers a minor. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
  • Violence, encouraging self-harm, or content that glorifies crime.
  • Spam, scams, get-rich-quick or pyramid schemes, and misleading business claims.
  • Impersonating anyone, including priests, religious, parishes, dioceses or Church bodies.
  • Sharing someone’s private information, intentions or messages without their permission.
  • Medical claims or promises of healing in testimonies; share what happened, and leave judgement of miracles to the Church.
  • Profanity and crude language. Cathora blocks some words automatically.

If someone is in danger

If a post or message suggests someone may harm themselves or others, please report it and, if the danger is immediate, contact local emergency services. Cathora is not a crisis service.

Reporting and blocking

  • Report: use the “…” menu or the Report button on any post, comment, testimony, shared intention, conversation, company listing or profile. Reports are private; the person isn’t told who reported them.
  • Block: from the same menu, or on someone’s profile. You won’t see their posts, comments or shared intentions, and neither of you can message the other. They aren’t told. Unblock any time in Settings → Privacy and data.
  • We review reports promptly, aiming for within 24 hours.

What we do

Depending on what happened, a moderator may hide the content, stop it being shared, warn the member, suspend the account, or remove it permanently. Serious harm is reported to the authorities. Every moderation action is recorded so it can be reviewed. If you think we got something wrong, write to [email protected].
